Key rules

  • Each Zonal Association (WAVA, CAVA, EAVA, SEAVA, OZVA) gets 2 places — the 1st & 2nd ranked teams from its 2026 Zonal Championships. Only 1 team per NF may qualify this way; if the top 2 share an NF, the 2nd place rolls to the next-highest eligible team from a different NF.
  • If a zone doesn't hold its championship, its 2 places go to the top 2 eligible teams in the AVC Team Ranking as of 29 July 2026 instead.
  • AVC Team Ranking points = both players' points combined. Each player counts their best 3 FIVB results + best 2 AVC results from the last 365 days (max 5 events; only 1 multi-sport/zonal event counts).
  • Host and Previous Champion quotas belong to the NF, which may name any team for the spot — to be confirmed 29 July–4 August 2026.
  • Maximum of 2 teams per NF across the whole Main Draw, strictly enforced.

Format once qualified

  • 24 teams split into 6 pools of 4, round robin.
  • Top 2 of each pool (12 teams) advance directly, plus the best 2 third-placed teams (2 teams).
  • The other 4 third-placed teams play a Lucky Loser round (3rd vs 6th, 4th vs 5th) for the final 2 spots.
  • Round of 16 → Quarterfinals → Semifinals → Finals, single elimination.

Main Draw

22 confirmed slots ranked by points, plus 2 slots pending confirmation (Host, Previous Champion).

How to read this list — Team Total Points = each player's FIVB points + AVC points, summed across both athletes. Pathway pills show how a team reached the Main Draw: continental zone champions (Oceania / SEA / Eastern / Central / Western), open AVC Team Ranking slots, or the Host / Previous Champion quota (still to be confirmed). "Outside the Main Draw" shows every other ranked team from the full AVC ranking list. Pending quotas list the standby order for the Host / Previous Champion slots.
